Housed in an unattractive shell, a beautiful pearl starts as a speck; a foreign body, much like the grit or small irritants, thought unimportant in our lives, come to our attention so we may acknowledge them and eventually clear them or integrate them.

An oyster isolates the intruder over time in smooth layers that transform light by reflection, refraction and diffraction. It covers and takes responsibility for what has come into its space and turns it into something beautiful.

Through courage, patience and faith, our grit becomes beautiful; layers of deep, rich luminescence of experience and time.

It’s easy to judge the outside of anything while missing the small irritants we seek to integrate that in time become beautiful.
